Responsible for training, coordinating, scheduling, and periodic (or shared) supervision of the Clear Creek Ambassador program. The ideal Golden Clear Creek Ambassador must demonstrate initiative, work independently and be available to work approximately 10 hours per week. Shifts may require standing or walking during the day, evenings, and weekends, especially Friday through Sunday.
JOB SUMMARY Serves a lead trainer for Clear Creek Ambassadors.
Assists with the development of procedures and policies for the Clear Creek Ambassador Program to ensure safety, consistency, and equity among all staff.
Assists with the development of operational policies and procedures to facilitate a strong customer focused program along the Creek Corridor.
Participates in the recruitment process to include interviews and candidate selection.
Responsible for monitoring staffing and scheduling.
Responsible for monitoring ambassador needs and operations during supervisor's absence.
Keeps supervisor informed of staff and/or program operational issues and needs.
Assists in the annual evaluation process to include staff reviews and program recommendations.
Meets the minimum requirements of a Clear Creek Ambassador and substitutes as needed and available.
With the Deputy Director, serves as liaison to Visit Golden, Golden Police Department, and other internal stakeholders to the Ambassador Program.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises ambassadors on duty during assigned shifts. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning; assigning and directing work; and addressing complaints and resolving problems in the absence of the Executive Assistant.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum 18 years of age by date of hire with at least one year experience in customer service. Supervisory experience strongly preferred. Must have excellent customer service, critical thinking, communication and interpersonal skills to effectively present information in a pleasant, helpful and enthusiastic manner. Must possess resiliency and a positive attitude. Ability to deal with diverse groups of people. Knowledge of the Clear Creek corridor, City rules and regulations, local services and attractions is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must be able to read, comprehend and interpret City of Golden policies and procedures. Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, citizens and others verbally and in writing. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Employee will regularly walk and stand for long periods of time. Position requires exposure to all types of weather. Ability to talk and hear through face to face communications. Ability to see to provide directions to customers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, and sun. Outdoor work environment with moderate noise levels.

This position requires 4-6 hour standing or walking shifts, during the day, evening, and weekends. The schedule will include holidays and Fridays through Sundays. Are you comfortable with this schedule?

You will greet visitors in the Clear Creek corridor within the City and at key locations along the trail. This job requires you to work outdoors and on foot in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, and wind). Do you understand these requirements?

The dress code for the Golden Clear Creek Ambassador Coordinator is closed toe shoes, pants or golf length shorts. For this position, clothes should be clean, and wrinkle free.
