Sanford Health is seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our clinical care environment. As a CMA at Sanford Health, you will be an essential member of an interdisciplinary care team, supporting providers and nurses to deliver safe, high-quality, and compassionate care to patients across a diverse population. This role is ideal for a clinically skilled and patient-focused professional who thrives in a supportive, inclusive, and fast-paced setting. In this position, you will work closely with providers to room patients, obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints in the electronic health record (EHR). You will assist with clinical procedures within your scope of practice, including phlebotomy, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, EKGs, immunizations, and basic treatments, while following established protocols and maintaining strict infection prevention and control standards. You will help prepare and maintain exam rooms and equipment, ensuring they are clean, safe, and well stocked to support efficient, high-quality patient care. The CMA plays a key role in managing patient flow, coordinating schedules, and supporting an efficient clinic environment. You will engage directly with patients and families, providing clear instructions and education related to visits, medications as directed by providers, follow-up care, preventive screenings, and chronic condition management. As an advocate for patient comfort and understanding, you will demonstrate empathy, respect, and cultural sensitivity in every interaction, reflecting Sanford Health’s commitment to compassionate care. In addition to hands-on clinical support, you will perform a variety of administrative and coordination tasks. These may include patient registration and check-in, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and accurate documentation in alignment with regulatory and organizational standards. You will support medication reconciliation and documentation processes, respond to patient inquiries and messages under provider direction, and participate in follow-up activities such as test result notifications, referrals, and care coordination across clinics or services. Sanford Health promotes a collaborative and innovative work culture, and as a CMA you will be encouraged to contribute to ongoing quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives. You will participate in team huddles, quality audits, and educational activities aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and the overall care experience. You will be expected to maintain current competencies, required certifications, and knowledge of policies, including HIPAA, infection control, and patient safety standards. This CMA role may involve a combination of on-site clinical work and limited remote tasks such as documentation or patient follow-up communications, depending on departmental needs, making it a flexible position within a hybrid care model. You will interact daily with providers, nurses, other clinical support staff, and administrative team members, fostering a respectful, team-oriented environment that emphasizes communication, accountability, and mutual support. At Sanford Health, you will have opportunities to grow your career, including potential advancement into roles such as Clinical Care Leader or other leadership and specialty positions as you gain experience and demonstrate excellence in patient care. You will be supported by a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement savings options, alongside access to ongoing education and development resources. If you are a Certified Medical Assistant who is passionate about patient care, values teamwork, and is eager to contribute to an organization that prioritizes innovation and inclusivity, we invite you to consider joining Sanford Health and making a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of the communities we serve.
