This role requires a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
Process Payroll: Accurately compile, prepare, and process bi-weekly payroll for all employees using Paycom. This includes verifying all timekeeping data, deductions, and withholdings.
FLSA Compliance: Maintain expert-level knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), state and federal wage and hour laws, and all current tax regulations to ensure 100% compliance in all payroll activities.
Database Management: Maintain and update the employee database in Paycom regarding salaries, new hires, terminations, and employee changes.
Reporting: Generate and reconcile comprehensive payroll reports, including tax payments, benefits deductions, garnishments, child support payments, workers compensation and year-end reporting like W-2s.
Garnishments: Process and monitor all wage garnishments, levies, and child support orders accurately and confidentially.
Audits & Reconciliations: Assist with internal and external payroll audits and perform monthly or quarterly payroll account reconciliations.
HRIS Support: Serve as a subject matter expert for the Paycom HRIS, providing support in recruitment and training staff as needed and helping to optimize system functionality.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on payroll processing experience in a similar role. Experience in the non-profit sector is a plus.
System Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency with Paycom for payroll and HRIS management is essential.
Compliance Knowledge: In-depth, current knowledge of the FLSA and federal, state, and local tax and wage laws.
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and excellent data entry speed and accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required for reporting and analysis.
Confidentiality: Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
