The current vacancy is on the evening shift (working days, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.). The days off are Sunday-Monday but may vary due to mission needs.
The current vacancy is located at AASF 1 St. Paul.
This is a temporary Full-Time position for approximately 300-350 days.
Military Security Guards provide 24 hour a day security coverage. Days off will vary according to the shift you are assigned to.
Journeyman level, experienced security work in support of a National Guard facility.
Provide protection and security for aircraft, persons, and property on a National Guard facility. Create AASF 1 access control badges for contractors and employees as required. Complete inventories of assigned equipment. Complete in a timely manner any other assigned administrative or support tasking's. Enforce regulations and rules. Control entry to and egress from designated entry and exit points. Guard against terrorism, vandalism, and burglary. Patrol perimeters, storage areas and other buildings for suspicious or unusual conditions or incidents. Report any unusual conditions or incidents. Regulate movement in and out of restricted areas and buildings to ensure admittance of only authorized personnel. Conduct searches of persons and property, within jurisdictional limitations. Provide information upon request to the public but staying within the guidelines of Operational Security (OPSEC). Apply first-aid when required. Assist in building evacuation and searching buildings for explosives or other dangerous substances when required. Enforce traffic laws and regulations. Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain log records. Monitor alarm equipment and intrusion detection systems (IDS) and initiate appropriate response forces. Provide other service necessary to secure location resources and personnel as approved by the Installation Force Protection Office.
Security/military police/law enforcement training. This is further defined as the formal awarding of Army MOS (95B or 31B), Marine MOS (5811), a Navy Master at Arms rating NEC (9545), or successful completion the U.S.A.F Security Police/Forces Academy Apprentice Course.
-All applicants are required to be armed in the course of their duties and must be eligible under the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Individuals convicted of domestic violence are not eligible for hire or retention.
-Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen and possess as well as maintain a valid Minnesota Class D driver’s license (or other state’s equivalent).
*All applicants must obtain a favorable National Agency Check with Local Records and Credit Check (NACLC). Personnel may be hired prior to a completed check. Failure to obtain or retain a favorable NACLC for a position of trust is basis for removal.
Knowledge of:

NOTE: Applicants will be required to submit verification of training in the form of their DD214/discharge papers (original or certified copy), course training certificate(s) and/or P.O.S.T License if called for an interview.
Applicants may be expected to meet physical agility and medical standards for fitness. Hearing in both ears, vision in both eyes, acceptable color vision. Capable of standing for prolonged periods and able to walk moderate distances and climb stairs. The ability to speak English clearly and effectively is essential.
Required to physically apprehend, detain, and restrain suspects.
(1) Drag, carry, lift, and/or pull a person to safety.
(2) Use physical force to detain a subject or prevent unauthorized entry.
(3) Prolonged standing and/or sustained patrol on foot or in a vehicle.
(4) Sustained pursuit of suspect.
(5) Dodging, crawling, climbing, and/or rapid ascent of stairs.
(6) Perform the above wearing duty equipment and/or personal protective equipment under adverse environmental conditions.
(7) Performing the above requires—
(a) The ability to be stable with regard to consciousness and the control of voluntary motor functions and have the functional capacity to respond appropriately to routine and emergency situations of the job.
(b) The ability to maintain mental alertness, deductive, and inductive reasoning, memory, and reliable judgment.
(c) Acuity of senses and ability of expression sufficient to allow essential, accurate communication by written, spoken, audible, visible, or other signals while using required personal protective or other equipment.
(d) Adequate motor power, dynamic strength, range of motion, neuromuscular coordination, stamina, gross body coordination, and dexterity.
