Principal Engineer (Rendering / Graphics + Core) Remote Do you want to be a part of a small, empathetic development team where you have a huge ability to affect the game that you are creating? Do you like solving tough architectural core engine problems and tracking down tricky bugs? Are you a subject matter expert who likes to branch out into all areas of code? If so, we'd love to hear from you. We value iterative driven development to make high-performance games that feel naturally satisfying and we prioritize bug fixing over new features. You Must Have: Significant experience with the Unreal engine. 5+ Years experience in rendering / graphics for real-time rendering engines. Strong understanding of modern real-time 3D rendering, GPU hardware architecture and optimization. Subject matter expertise in another area of engineering (i.e. Audio, Animation, Physics, Networking etc.) on a shipped title. Strong self-motivation and self-sufficiency. You know how to independently implement large changes and find the resources you need to make your vision clear to the team. What You\'ll Do: Contribute to all areas of code as part of a strong generalist engineering team. Write C++ and a custom game scripting language to modify existing low level Unreal Engine features or create entirely new ones to execute the game’s overall vision. Own our run-time graphics / rendering code for our title. Work directly with other departments to help us make a game that looks great and runs great. Give meaningful feedback on all aspects of the game and contribute ideas to enrich our game and the world in our new IP. Help create an inclusive and collaborative development culture within the team. NOT be encouraged to crunch or work overtime. Ideally You\'ll Have: Excellent communication skills and be a proactive communicator. You’ll be able to speak deeply with other engineers as well as presenting ideas in appropriate depth to non-coders. The skills to polish your work to a high quality bar. Ideally you have experience going from a blank slate to a shipped game, understanding the shifts in development between prototyping, polishing and shipping. Experience working on consoles. What You\'ll Get: The base pay for this role is $190,000 to $210,000 USD per year (or equivalent in your local currency).
