WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The Sanitation Worker is responsible for the removal of raw products and solid waste from food contact surfaces to properly clean and sanitize the production facility area/grounds, and equipment

• Remove solid waste and raw products from production facility floors, food contact surfaces, and containers.
• Cover and protect all sensitive equipment with canvas/plastic covers
• Preparatory rinsing of all food contact surfaces
• Apply cleaning chemicals to all machinery
• Use centralized and/or portable foaming systems
• Rinse and remove cleaning chemicals
• Operate forklift for chemical transportation and trash disposal
• Operate riding scrubber to clean large areas of production processing areas
• Help disassemble deep cleaning equipment
• Apply heavy-duty chemicals to break down accumulated sugars
• Apply concentrated sanitizer to walls and overhead
• Inspect respirator mask, filters, and report defects in a timely manner
• Other assigned duties and/or projects to support business needs

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School/GED or six months to one year of experience in related field or combination of both education and experience.
• Must be able to obtain forklift certification within 30 days of hire date.
  

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
• Must be reliable, responsible, dependable, and be able to fulfill obligations
• Ability to work in a fast paced and high-pressure environment
• Work as a team and follow instructions

Preferred Qualifications:

• Forklift Certification
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• One to two years of experience in related field

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, using 3-point contact on a regular basis
• Environmental exposure- hot/humid conditions (95 &degree; Fahrenheit or above).
• Environmental exposure- cold/wet conditions (40 &degree; Fahrenheit or below)
• Material exposure – moving mechanical parts
• Occasional exposure to environmental factors such as fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry between 50 to 55 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in an upright position walking on both even and uneven surfaces
• Ability to stoop, crouch, and kneel on a regular basis
• Ability to use hands and arms to grasp, manipulate, and handle objects in one position for an extended period of time.
• Ability to successfully wear a full face and half face respirator mask for extended periods of time

HOURS & WORKDAYS:

• 3rd Shift – 11:15 PM to 8:15 AM
• 3rd Shift – 12:15 AM to 8:45 AM
• 3rd Shift – 1:15 AM to 9:45 AM
• Rotating workday/time off schedules, overtime, weekends, and holidays may be mandatory based on business and/or department needs.
