School Principal

This is an anticipated position to start on July 1, 2026. The principal serves as the instructional and operational leader of the school and is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, supportive, and academically rigorous learning environment for all scholars. The principal provides leadership in curriculum and instruction, staff supervision, scholar support, school culture, and community engagement. The principal works collaboratively with district leadership, the district instructional coach, the reading interventionist, teachers, families, and community partners to ensure high levels of scholar achievement and continuous school improvement.

Key responsibilities include instructional leadership, staff supervision and professional development, school culture and climate, scholar support and achievement, theme-based school development (if applicable), school operations and management, family and community engagement, enrollment and recruitment, data accountability, district leadership and governance, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include Connecticut State 092 Certification, an accredited Bachelor's; Master's degree; 6th Year, minimum of six years of successful teaching experience at the elementary and/or middle school level, preferably in more than one grade level, demonstrated experience in instructional leadership or school administration, and strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

This is a full-time, 12-month position. Salary is commensurate with experience and district guidelines. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
