Job Description

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) 

Soliant is seeking a dedicated and qualified Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) in or near Blaine, WA for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.

Candidates residing in British Columbia are encouraged to apply due to the position's proximity to the U.S.-Canada border. Applicants must have a valid U.S. work visa or be in the process of obtaining one that will be active by or shortly after the start of the school year.

Caseload Information

• Middle School Setting 
• Provide interpreting services to ensure access to classroom instruction and school-related activities

Responsibilities

• Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, staff, and peers
• Provide accurate sign language interpretation in educational settings
• Support student access to academic instruction and school activities
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and administrators
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in accordance with school and district guidelines

Qualifications

• Active Sign Language Interpreter credentials as required by state and district regulations
• Previous school-based experience preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families
• Candidates from British Columbia must have a valid U.S. work visa or documentation showing their work authorization process is expected to be completed by or shortly after August 2026
