Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Medical Surgical unit specializing in infectious disease, isolation precautions, and related diagnoses including COVID, MRSA, and C-Diff
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6 (1:4 for COVID patients), working alongside CNAs and a 24/7 Charge Nurse; night charge nurses carry a full patient assignment
• Administer and manage IV medications including Heparin, antibiotics, and other standard MedSurg IV therapies; no cardiac drips required
• Monitor patients on CPAP, BiPAP, or high-flow oxygen as managed in coordination with Respiratory Therapy; interpret remote telemetry as needed (strip reading/interpretation not required)
• Adhere to strict isolation and infection control precautions for all assigned patients
• Float to other MedSurg units as needed; when floated to a Telemetry unit, assignments will be within the nurse's established skillset

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Strong working knowledge of Medical Surgical nursing practices
• Experience with infectious disease patients and isolation precautions (contact, droplet, airborne)
• Ability to work every-other-weekend; night weekend shifts include Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Willingness to work holidays based on unit needs and to be subject to call-off for low census

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in a Medical Surgical or Infectious Disease setting
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records
• Experience caring for patients on CPAP, BiPAP, or high-flow oxygen therapy
