Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 04/27/2026 Duration: 12 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Position: RN – PACU Facility: ChristianaCare Location: Christiana Hospital Availability & Scheduling Comfortable working rotating day/evening shifts Rotating shifts, typical start times are 0530, 0630, 0900, and 1100. Potential for occasional rotation to midnight shift, with a start time of 1830 Available for on-call coverage as required Clinical Experience Relevant to the Role Extensive experience in PACU Phase I & II recovery care Proficient in airway management, oxygen therapy, and ventilatory support Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac telemetry, and neurological assessments Strong competency in pain control, sedation monitoring, and post-operative complication management Experienced with advanced patient monitoring equipment and EMR documentation Ability to manage multiple post-operative patients while maintaining safety and clinical accuracy Candidate Summary Experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Post Anesthesia Care (PACU) with a strong background in perioperative nursing and recovery care. Demonstrated expertise in Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery , airway management, hemodynamic monitoring, and post-anesthesia patient stabilization across diverse surgical populations including general surgery, orthopedic, neuro, and transplant procedures . The candidate is highly skilled in rapid patient assessment, ventilatory support, pain management, and post-operative monitoring , ensuring safe recovery from anesthesia in high-acuity environments. Known for working efficiently in fast-paced surgical recovery units , collaborating closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient outcomes.
