Job Description

Essential Functions The Child Life Specialist is responsible for providing patient care services for infants, toddlers, school age children, adolescents and their families. The role fosters emotional well‑being, promotes cognitive development and creates a family‑centered environment that reduces stress and encourages social interaction. The specialist supports developmental integrity through play experiences by creating a safe environment and orients hospital staff to the psychosocial needs of children and their families, fostering positive hospital community relations. Experience Qualifications Minimum Required: Completion of the Child Life Internship and eligibility to sit for the certification exam. Preferred: Two years of clinical experience in a pediatric healthcare setting. Licenses and Certifications Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) – preferred Special Skills and Training Eligibility to become CPR certified, CPI trained, and Tracheostomy Trained – required CPR certification – preferred Work Shift Days (United States of America) Equal Opportunity Employer LCMC Health is an equal opportunity employer.
