Position Summary 40 scheduled hours per week. This position greets patients upon their arrival. Duties include check‑in, check‑out, scheduling appointments, ensuring insurance is verified and referrals are obtained, ensuring appropriate registration information is entered correctly and in a timely manner. Assists with maintaining patient flow in a fast‑paced clinical office. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for greeting, registering and checking in new, return and walk‑in patients. Will also check‑out and schedule appointments. Updates and verifies patient insurance, referrals and demographic information in EPIC as needed. Collects copays, self‑pay payments and fees for services as needed. Balances cash drawer daily. Serves as back up for other staff during peak times, vacations and illnesses. Travel to other locations may be required. Maintains familiarity with insurance companies and their requirements. Adheres to HIPAA regulations and all Orthopedic/front desk policies. Performs other duties as assigned. Working Conditions Normal office environment. Patient care setting. Physical Effort Typically sitting at desk or table. Repetitive wrist, hand or finger movement. Equipment Office equipment. Education High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience. Certifications / Professional Licenses Basic Life Support – American Heart Association, Basic Life Support – American Red Cross. Work Experience Billing Systems And Third‑Party Claims And/Or Medical Office Setting, Related Customer Service (3 Years). Skills Not Applicable Driver's License A driver's license is not required for this position. More About This Job Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date. Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
