Under the direct supervision of the Child Life Manager, the Child Life Specialist will be responsible for assessing individual patients and facilitating techniques to enhance coping, providing appropriate play opportunities, establishing supportive relationships with patients and their families, and collaborating with other members of the health care team. They will also maintain appropriate records and keep their level of professional knowledge at an acceptable level. The Child Life Specialist supervises volunteers and students assigned to their department. Must receive CCLS Certified Child Life Specialist within 1 year of employment. Main and South Campus, hours vary, some holidays and weekends.
